A music video directed by Howard Greenhalgh to support Placebo's single called "For What It's Worth" has been debuted. It mostly highlights the band's live performance in a building. Their performance is sometimes intercepted with a capture of people doing their daily basis routine in town.
"For What It's Worth" is one of the new materials to be listed in Placebo's soon-to-be-released studio album "Battle for the Sun". The lead single off the record was played on radio for the first time on April 20 during Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 program.
"Battle for the Sun" itself is slated for U.K. release on June 8. Becoming the band's first album with new drummer Steve Forrest, the effort is "about choosing life, about choosing to live, about stepping out of the darkness and into the light."
For What It’s Worth Lyrics Placebo:
The end of the century,
I said my goodbyes
For what it´s worth I always aim to please
But I nearly died
For what it´s worth come on lay with me
cause I´m on fire
For what it´s worth I tear the sun in three
To light up your eyes
For what it´s worth (4x)
Broke up the family, everybody cried
For what it´s worth I have a slow disease
That sucked me dry
For what it´s worth come on walk with me
Into the rising tide
For what it´s worth filled a cavity
Your god shaped hole tonight
For what it´s worth (8x)
No one cares when you´re out on the street
Picking up the pieces to make ends meet
No one cares when you´re down in the gutter
Got no friends got no lover
(repeat)
For what it´s worth, got no lover
(repeat)
Got no friends got no lover.
