Short Film: Palladium Boots Presents: Tokyo Rising Featuring Pharrell

This past Tuesday I caught the premiere screening of a new short film by Palladium Boots featuring Pharrell called Tokyo Rising at NYC’s Hiro Ballroom. ? The 30-minute film follows key members of Tokyo’s young creative class in the months following the 3/11 earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disaster as they react to the heightened sense of reality surrounding the dangers of nuclear power combined with living in an earthquake zone surrounded by water. ? It’s an empowering perspective on the ability of the young artist and activist community’s ability to create awareness and change, not only in Japan but everywhere.

The Band Perry Sell Out First Headlining Show in 20 Minutes

Filed under: Concert News , Country News Getty Images for ACM Continuing their incredible run, the Band Perry have sold out all 2,300 tickets to their first headlining show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. And they did it in just 20 minutes. The sibling trio, who just wrapped up a supporting tour with Tim McGraw and have upcoming dates with Keith Urban and Reba McEntire , will be playing their first headlining concert on February 20, 2012, as part of their 75-date Purveyors of Performance Tour , which launched on August 15.

The Band Perry Announce First Headlining Tour

Filed under: Country News , Tour Spotlight Jason Merritt, Getty Images While still wrapping up a handful of dates with Tim McGraw , the Band Perry have announced the dates of their first headlining tour, which kicks off August 15 and extends well into 2012. The sibling trio's 75-date trek, dubbed the Purveyors of Performance Tour, includes headlining shows, as well as support dates with Keith Urban and Reba McEntire , and soon-to-be-announced dates with "one of country music's major touring forces," according to a statement released by the band. "It has always been our dream to play country music," the band explains.
