The Moniker slog igenom 2007 i TV4:s ”Idol”, då under namnet Daniel Karlsson. Han slutade på fjärde plats i tävlingen. Under programmets gång blev han känd för att bära en kaptensbindel när han uppträdde. Efter skrällen i förra årets festival släppte The Moniker både ett album och var med i ”Allsång på Skansen”. Nu ska han vara med i Melodifestivalen för andra året i rad.
